Inflammation has been, and will continue to be, an extremely relevant topic in the world of health. Although the topic has been addressed so often in the media, many people assume that inflammation only refers to swollen joints or other external injuries, when in fact, they are often discussing internal inflammation, which can often be much more harmful.

Turmeric is a great addition to any curry, and also tastes great when mixed with brown rice, both perfect meals for the cooler period of the year. Aim to cook with turmeric at least once a week and always try to opt for fresh turmeric, rather than pre-packaged ground turmeric.

2. White Tea

White tea comes from the same plant as green tea – however is much rarer than its green counterpart. As well as this, White Tea contains more than ten times the amount of antioxidants in Green Tea. It is also rich in polyphenols , which are believed to assist in fighting high blood pressure and protect the cardiovascular system.

3. Blueberries

Not only are blueberries extremely proficient in fighting inflammation, they also carry many benefits for memory and brain health . Even better, blueberries do not lose their antioxidant properties when frozen, so you can enjoy them all year round!

4. Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Olive oil naturally contains many anti-inflammatory nutrients, similar to those found in ibuprofen tablets . Have a go at switching out your normal salad dressings, and even butter, out with extra virgin olive oil and you’ll notice the difference in no time!

5. Ubiquinol

Ubiquinol is the active form of CoQ10, which is a strong antioxidant that can be naturally produced within the body. Ubiquinol aids in fighting the effects of free-radical damage and oxidative stress in the body, and can assist in reducing inflammation .
