Ubiquinol

Bring your A-Game to your workouts with Ubiquinol

Do you want to boost your energy levels, fight feelings of fatigue and achieve your peak performance?

You may already know the importance of fuelling your body with proper nutrition, including pre-and post-workout nutritional regimes when exercising. But did you know that no matter what exercise you partake in, putting yourself through gruelling workouts may result in significant strain and stress over the body?

If you want to bring your A-game, talk to your trainers and health practitioner about supplementing with Ubiquinol.

Ubiquinol (the active form of Coenzyme Q10 or ‘CoQ10’) has been proven as a powerful source of energy production. It may help to improve athletic performance whilst also protecting the body against oxidative stress and inflammation.

Power Boost

Ubiquinol is naturally produced within the body, providing a vital source of energy and helping reduce feelings of fatigue. For professional athletes, even the smallest boost in power production can make all the difference.

A German study published in the Journal of Sports Nutrition[i] found that daily supplementation of just 300mg of Ubiquinol over six weeks significantly enhanced physical performance.

Athletes who took Ubiquinol demonstrated higher levels of muscle power and displayed a significant 2.5 per cent increase in power per kilogram of body weight.

Reduce Oxidative Stress

Intense workouts can be harmful on the body both during and after your training sessions. The body produces potentially damaging oxidants and potential oxidative stress during and after exertion.

According to research published in Biochemical Society Transactions[ii], intense exercise can induce oxidative stress.

A study, published in the Journal of the Federation of European Physiological Societiesi, found that Ubiquinol can help to reduce oxidative stress during training. This study examined the effect of Ubiquinol on athletes during a single session of intense exercise. The double-blind crossover study found that Ubiquinol lowered oxidative stress.

Reduced Inflammation

Ubiquinol supplements may also assist in lowering inflammation after a strenuous workout. A study from the University of Granada[iii], explained that athletes who took Ubiquinol had lower white blood cell counts after strenuous exercise, indicating lower inflammation levels.

How to Boost Your Ubiquinol

Ubiquinol is naturally found in foods such as chicken, oily fish, organ meats and whole grains. It may, however, seem difficult to maintain high levels of Ubiquinol within your diet without eating excessive amounts of these foods. Once digested, the Ubiquinol in these foods converts back to the Ubiquinone form of CoQ10 which makes it more difficult for your body to absorb and use.

Ubiquinol supplements are available under many national brands, and are a great way of ensuring you get your daily dose. When supplementing, it is important to take your dose in consumption with your biggest meal of the day as Ubiquinol is fat-soluble.

Ask your trainer, nutritionist or health practitioner for more information on Ubiquinol and CoQ10 supplements.

Please Note: Always read the label. Use only as directed. If symptoms persist consult your healthcare practitioner. Vitamin supplements should not replace a balanced diet.
