Kaneka Ubiquinol™ in New Zealand for Industry Innovation

The Kaneka team was proud to attend and present at the Natural Health Product Innovation Expo 2024 in New Zealand this year 🌿

The event bought suppliers, manufacturers and brandholders together to network and gain knowledge new ingredients to innovative ideas for our industry.

Representing Kaneka Ubiquinol™, Stephanie Berglin, a Nutritionist, Herbalist and Educator, presented on the role of Kaneka Ubiquinol™ in mitochondrial function and healthy ageing.

Stephanie enlightened the audience on how Kaneka Ubiquinol™, the potent lipid-soluble antioxidant, bio-identical to endogenous Ubiquinol, aids in cellular energy production across the lifespan, powering the mitochondria in cells and supporting healthy ageing as endogenous Ubiquinol levels naturally decline.

After 20 years of age, the natural levels of Ubiquinol begin to decline and from 50+ years of age individuals have an impaired ability to convert Ubiquinone to Ubiquinol due to increased metabolic demand, oxidative stress, and inflammatory processes and other exogenous influences, which impacts the biosynthesis and conversion.

Science shows that Ubiquinol comprises more than 96% of the total CoQ10 (ubiquinone and ubiquinol) in human plasma generating energy, supporting cardiovascular health, cognitive function, immune function, fertility, stress and sleep, menopause, exercise recovery, fatigue and optimal wellbeing.

Stephanie outlined some of the key evidence that supports the supplementation of Ubiquinol for healthy ageing, including:

  1. Heart health – supporting blood vessel health,[1] helping maintain healthy cholesterol,[2] and enhancing mitochondrial energy production in the heart, improving overall heart health and function and reducing fatigue.[3]
  2. Fertility – support for both men and women [4,5]
  3. Energy and vitality – 100 and 150 mg of Ubiquinol daily for 12 weeks improved fatigue in 42 healthy individuals compared to placebo [6]
  4. Menopausefor improving mood, alleviating menopausal symptoms and enhancing QoL for older women with 100mg a day.[7,8]
  5. Cognition – where just 100mg of Kaneka Ubiquinol™ a day improves memory, attentiveness and work processing ability in middle-aged and elderly people.[9]

Ms Berglin also highlighted the support Kaneka Ubiquinol™ provides to their brandholders with top-quality assets such as fact sheets, white papers and practitioner webinars, and KOLs renowned in their fields of heart health, fertility, nutrition and pharmacy.

With over 100 studies spanning 45 years of research, Kaneka Ubiquinol™ is a potent, lipid-soluble antioxidant that plays a critical role in supporting mitochondrial function and healthy ageing.

Always read the label and follow the directions for use. Consult your healthcare professional to establish if Ubiquinol is suitable for your needs.
