New Year, New You: How Ubiquinol Can Get You Back on Track

A new year means new resolutions, and ultimately a new you—or so that’s what we’re told.

However, according to research conducted by Strava that was released earlier this year—12th January is the fateful day of most New Year’s resolutions end[i].

In another study done by Finder, it showed that the top two New Year’s resolution in Australia included improving fitness and eating better[ii].

To get you back on track and stick to your New Year’s resolution, here are our top tips when it comes to exercise and nutrition.

IMPROVING FITNESS:
Whilst going to the gym is a popular resolution to get fit, a lot of people become unmotivated because of overcrowded gyms in January. People also find it difficult to stay on top of an often strict and unrealistic fitness regime they set for themselves.

Instead, a great place to start is looking at how your day to day activity can get you fit through incidental exercise. This includes taking the stairs instead of the elevator at work, walking to appointments or work instead of taking public transportation, or walking to get your groceries instead of driving—these little actions will start to add up and can improve your overall health and fitness.

EATING BETTER:
In order to stay on track with your nutrition goals, it’s important to be conscious about achieving our daily recommended vegetable/fruit intake, limiting our sugar consumption, staying within the daily carbohydrate recommendation and getting enough protein—but also not depriving ourselves of the foods we love. Instead, opt for moderation.

Another consideration is supplementation, including nutrient rich ingredients like Ubiquinol, also known as Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), which is a naturally occurring antioxidant found in nearly every cell of our body. Ubiquinol is the active form of CoQ10, and is more bioavailable and easily absorbed in the body than CoQ10. It has many benefits like helping to fight aging, including free radicals and the effects of a poor diet, lack of exercise and various external factors such as pollution and stress.

Always consult your healthcare practitioner about whether supplements are appropriate for you.
