Looking after your heart health is a great way to put yourself first – the best part about looking after your heart is that it doesn’t have to be difficult.
The three easy tips we’ve put together are simple enough to start tonight and can easily be done from home.
Sleeping for your heart
Are you getting enough sleep each night? Recent research has shown that people who sleep poorly or sleep less than six hours or more than nine hours may have a higher risk of heart problems.
Getting more sleep is an easy lifestyle fix that can be started tonight – try sticking to a daily sleep schedule where you get to bed at a similar time each night. Aiming for seven to eight hours of sleep will make sure that your heart is able to repair itself at night, and you wake up feeling rested and energised for the day ahead.
Learn to manage your stress levels
Although it’s easier said than done, looking after and managing your stress levels are beneficial towards the health of your heart.
Unfortunately, busy schedules and long work days may make it hard to do so. However, it’s important to keep your stress levels in check as this may have an impact on our heart health.
Spending more time on the activities you love is a great way to manage your stress levels. Try mindfulness activities like Yoga or meditation and you might find that stress becomes easier to manage. Try both activities from home with your family and make it an activity that everyone can take part in!
Increase your antioxidants
Try supplementing with antioxidants like Ubiquinol. As the bio-active form of the Co-Enzyme CoQ10, supplementing with Ubiquinol has been shown to assist in maintaining healthy levels of LDL cholesterol and may help with overall maintenance of a healthy cardiovascular system.
Always read the label. Use only as directed. If symptoms persist, consult your healthcare practitioner.
