Ubiquinol can help you replenish natural cellular energy that is used up through daily activity and which declines naturally as you age. Although Ubiquinol helps to sustain natural energy levels, it is not a “quick fix” for people who feel they need an energy boost when showing signs of fatigue. You won’t experience a buzz like you may get from caffeine or a chocolate fix.
Rather, Ubiquinol works slowly over time to support and maintain natural energy production inside the cells of your organs, such as your heart and lungs, helping them to function at optimal levels.
As your cellular energy levels improve with Ubiquinol, you’ll be able to avoid mid-afternoon fatigue and get through your day in a more productive way.
How Long Will It Take?
If your body’s Ubiquinol levels are low, it may take two to three weeks for your body to replenish its natural Ubiquinol levels and you may not see an immediate difference. As Ubiquinol levels start to be restored in the blood plasma, many people should see reduced signs of fatigue on about the fifth day after starting the supplement.
Usually within two to three weeks, your body’s amount of Ubiquinol will reach optimum levels, and many will feel a difference in energy within this time.
If you’re switching to Ubiquinol from a CoQ10 supplement, the effects of the switch can depend on how well your body is converting CoQ10 into Ubiquinol – the active form that the body’s cells can use. You might feel a slight improvement in energy levels or a more dramatic one. Usually it will take a few days to feel the difference.
If you’re over 40 years of age you might feel a more substantial change. As we age, the body is less able to convert CoQ10 to Ubiquinol.
How Much Should I Take?
The recommended daily use of Ubiquinol varies based on each individual’s needs. However, if you are older or are feeling especially fatigued, you may want to start supplementing with 200mg of Ubiquinol per day. After about two weeks, 100mg per day is thought to be a good maintenance dose.
Many people take their Ubiquinol supplement each morning with breakfast. If you take more than one Ubiquinol capsule each day, consider taking them at different eating occasions – for example, one capsule with breakfast and another with lunch.
You may want to split the dose up for best effect throughout the day but speak to your doctor about the right dose and timing for you.
